Designed for the milling, grain, cereal and seed processing industry, IAOM’s Good Manufacturing Practices in Grain Processing DVD will offer your company and its employees substantial benefits. Have the instructional DVD in English and Spanish (one one disc) available at each mill or plant facility to train and educate your employees in the good manufacturing practices in grain processing.
Part I – Good Manufacturing Practices in Grain Receiving, Handling and Storing begins at the grain receiving point, taking the viewer through raw materials receiving, handling and storage to the cleaning house. The objective of this part is to assist those in the milling industry in training grain elevator employees and allied personnel in applicable GMP requirements.
Part II – Good Manufacturing Practices in the Milling Process takes the viewer into the milling process. It emphasizes, again, the importance of each facet in the mill and the role of each employee in assuring the production of clean, safe and wholesome food products.
Part III – Good Manufacturing Practices in Packaging, Storing and Distributing takes the viewer from the mill to bulk storage; then to packaging, either bulk loads or as packaged finishing products; then into warehousing and storage; and then distribution. It also emphasizes the importance of establishing personnel policies and operational procedures, especially in this final part of the process, before the products leave the facility.

3-Part DVD Series on Handling Emergency Situations
Developed and Produced by Curmode Associates
Video I – Strategic & Tactical Considerations of a Grain Elevator Explosion
This presentation gives a detailed account of some of the strategic and tactical considerations at one of the largest grain elevator explosions ever documented. The incident occurred on June 8, 1998, at one of the world’s largest grain elevator storage facilities in the United States in rural Sedgwick County, Kansas, near Wichita. The lecture and slide show is presented by Gary E. Curmode, fire chief, Sedgwick County Fire District No. 1. (2 hours, 50 minutes)
Video II – Tactical Considerations at Grain Elevator Fires
Grain elevator employees and first responders need to do careful pre-planning that includes creation of standard operating procedures/guidelines and familiarization tours of the facility. When an emergency occurs, the incident commander and the grain elevator manager must make multiple decisions in a very short time. Every emergency is unique, and your response must be too. It is critical to understand what a plant manager, supervisor, or emergency responder should do in an emergency of any magnitude at a grain elevator or grain facility. This may be a fire or an explosion. This training video shows tactical considerations and guidelines for these specific situations. The decision-making is yours alone. (26:20 minutes)
Video III – Agriterrorism
Imagine a threat to your nation’s food supply – your livelihood. Recent events have delivered a powerful message. This video will inform you and provide concrete solutions on how to protect your investment and America’s most cherished commodities – its beef, dairy and grain products. (Approximately 27 minutes)
