May 7-11, 2012
Join hundreds of milling
professionals from across North America and around the world when they convene
in Spokane, Washington, in 2012 for IAOM's Annual Conference & Expo to be held at
the
The Davenport Hotel
and Tower and the
Spokane Convention Center from May 7-11.
About the Conference
Grain milling professionals
consistently find that the IAOM conference experience affords them an
opportunity to enhance and advance their careers through comprehensive education
programs, to connect with their industry peers at exciting networking events,
and to develop relationships with vendors who offer the products and services
they need to efficiently do their job.
The IAOM Annual
Conference & Expo is the premier educational event for grain milling and seed
processing professionals. The annual event gathers milling and allied trade
professionals from around the world for three days of education, networking and
fellowship. Educational and technical programs presented at the conference
assist millers in improving yields, productivity, customer satisfaction and
safety. The programs are presented by seasoned professionals in the field who
have experienced the issues affecting millers first-hand.
In addition, the
annual conference also includes the world’s largest Expo for milling
professionals, typically featuring nearly one hundred companies displaying
milling and processing equipment and related services.

Spouse/Guest Program -
May
9-10
Spouse/Guest Program Offers Shopping, a Lake Cruise and a Tour of
the Beautiful City of Spokane
Join
us Wednesday morning as we head to Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, for a day at the lake.
The Coeur d'Alene area is surrounded by dozens of lakes left behind by the
glaciers of the ice age. There are more than 55 lakes within easy driving
distance of Coeur d'Alene, but none more scenic and full of activities than Lake
Coeur d'Alene itself.
After
two hours of shopping in the downtown art galleries, boutiques and antique
shops, we will board the boat for a two-hour lunch cruise on Lake Coeur d’ Alene,
which is considered to be one of the ten most beautiful lakes in the United
States. With both inside and outside seating, you won’t have to worry about the
weather. Along the way, enjoy a lunch buffet and a scenic view which includes
wildlife, secluded lake homes and the world’s only floating green at the Coeur
d’ Alene Resort Golf Course.
Start
your day Thursday with a continental breakfast at The Davenport Hotel followed
by a spin around the city. Officially founded in 1873 by James Nettle Glover,
Spokane was first a small settlement known as Spokan Falls. The natural
resources of Eastern Washington – fertile soil, timber and mineral wealth –
eventually attracted more settlers to the area. The present boundaries of
Spokane County were created by the legislature in 1879. Spokane retains much of
its architectural history today. More than 50 percent of Spokane’s downtown is
designated as historic, making up three separate National Register Historic
Districts. In fact, the city of Spokane has the most designated National
Register Historic Districts in the state with 18.
While
touring beautiful Spokane with its rich history Thursday, you will enjoy the
historic homes, Spokane Falls, beautiful mansions including a tour of the Glover
Mansion, a tour of the majestic Saint John’s Cathedral, and a tour of the
Crosbyyanna Room at Gonzaga University, which honors Washington native Bing
Crosby. We promise to have you back in plenty of time to freshen up for the IMEF
Dinner and Live Auction.
